Can we DFA Omar and Jerry Manuel?

Only the NY Mets would try to bat Jose Reyes third.

When told he'd be batting first again after a failed three week experiment, he said:

“It feels like I’m going home to see my family.”

The Mets like to make their star players feel uncomfortable. Remember when they moved him to 2nd base for Kaz Matsui?

Oliver Perez continues to impress and is returning huge dividends on his $36 million contract. He has almost as many walks (28) as innnings pitched (33). If walks were a good thing for a pitcher, he'd be the best arm in all of baseball. Of course, they keep saying he's 'making progress,' a euphemism which in Mets code means he pitched four innings instead of two during his last start. They stick with him because to completely write him off would be admitting that Omar is a total disaster as a GM.

I have a feeling they're about to invent another injury for Oliver and send him down to AAA, like last year. When do we get to designate Omar and Jerry Manuel for assignment?

Thanks for keeping me updated on all the crap that is going on with the mets! what would summer be without the GM and managers bumbling the line ups and screwing things up in general.
